The biggest Botaniquest of the year includes five stops near the IN/IL border in the north part of the state. Dennis Kovar, an incredible floral designer and gardener, is my partner in gardening on this day each year. First stop Wagner Farms & Greenhouse in Grant Park, IL. Nice people, nice quality and INCREDIBLE prices. 48 packs of annuals are $12/flat. Seriously! And 4″ plants are $2.25. These prices are about half of what you’ll pay at many garden centers in the midwest.
Even on a rainy day, this is a great place to be with its 18 hoop houses filled with flowers, flowers and more flowers. Ten inch hanging baskets are only $16. One gallon perennials are only $7. Amazing. Just amazing.
