“Our goal is to encourage the planting and conservation of trees and other plants for a greener, healthier, and more beautiful world.” And this is one of the best places to see what those trees and plants will become! Looking at plants in 3-gallon pots in a garden center gives you no clue about their potential– but a visit to an arboretum can do the trick. Morton is particularly nice because they’ve taken more of a botanical garden approach instead of just fields with trees (sorry, but that’s what some arboreta are!).
We took the tram for the first time and highly recommend it. It was easy, breezy and informative! Plus, there are some special exhibits including trolls by Dutch artist Thomas Dambo (through 2019) that do NOT like humans! If that’s gone by the time you get there, never fear. The next exhibit will be great too! And the children’s garden is fantastic.
