Sinnissippi Gardens

Rockford, IL

My idea of enjoying roses is to visit a rose garden at peak bloom! While I often plant shrub roses, I leave the floribundas and grandifloras, etc., to the true rose enthusiasts. So it was perfect timing when we visited the Sinnissippi Gardens.  All-American Rose Selection accredited gardens at just the right moment (third week of June 2019). The rain let up and the petals glistened with raindrops. This garden features 2000 plants and 62 varieties including this year’s award winners. Kudos to the rosarians at Sinnissippi– everything was just beautiful! FYI, this is immediately adjacent to the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens and a public art trail!
