Alsip Home & Nursery is a bit different. It’s independently owned with locations in Frankfort, IL and St. John, IN and it’s stocked with everything you could need for the garden, patio or your pets– I mean everything– but it feels like a big box store. I think it’s due to the building, lighting, straight aisles and standard shelving. I’ve been in garden centers this big before that still ooze charm and warmth. IF you’re driving by, it’s worth a stop. I can find an array of fertilizers to feed my garden here, no problem, but the store just doesn’t feed my soul.
